Learn and practice the skills needed to be an effective bridge builder

Our ability to build bridges is not innate, and we tend to avoid things that we don’t know how to do - including building relationships with people who are different from us.

It takes time and dedication to cultivate skills of listening, dialogue and collaboration - all which are core to bridge-building. But the effort is well worth it!

Bridge-building skills create better leaders and problem solvers. They help strengthen our relationships and improve interactions. These skills can improve our ability to collaborate with our own teams as well as people "outside our bubble.

Complete a training to learn a skill and earn a digital badge. Better yet - earn all three badges to receive a Bridging Divides Microcredential!

We created a pathway for you to acquire the skills you need to be an effective bridge builder in your home, workplace, and community spaces. Choose the skill you are interested in, select a training that fits your learning style, and begin the process of earning your digital badge. Some trainings may even earn you multiple badges for different skills! Once you earn all three badges, you will be awarded a Microcredential in Bridging Divides!

Campus Bridging Initiative

Through this course, urban and rural college students are convened for an immersive, cross-cultural learning experience. Individuals emerge as Bridgers who feel bonded to one another and skilled to cross divides on their campuses and beyond.

Being a skilled bridge-builder in a time of polarization requires effort and courage. Your microcredential signals your readiness to show both!

This program is endorsed by the Bridging Movement Collaborative, a collective leadership effort to erase toxic division from our civic culture while building productive civic engagement. It is also endorsed by Bridge Alliance and supported by the National Coalition of Dialogue and Deliberation.  The program is made possible through partnership with the Civics Credentialing System, an initiative of Team Democracy.
